Dr. Ruterbusch is a Board-Certified Osteopathic/Naturopathic Physician who was trained in Sports and Exercise Preventive Medicine (SEPM) at UCSD/SDSU after completing his Internal Medicine Internship at the National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, Maryland. After graduation from this unique SEPM program which included Special training, as Chief Resident, in premier Sports Medicine positions/locations such as the “Olympic Training Center”, SDSU’s Athletic Medicine Program, Detroit Lions Training Camp, UCSD’s OrthoMed, Navy Seal Special Warfare Command Medical Department, and USMC SMART (Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Treatment Center), Camp Pendleton, Dr. Ruterbusch was the first Naval Physician to “stand-up” the original Sports Medicine Clinic at Mayport Naval Station in Mayport, Florida.
Upon retirement from the Navy, after a thirty-year career, he was Acting Department Head at ATP Medical in Kuwait City, Kuwait. There he was in charge of: Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation, Health Promotion and Wellness, and Metabolic and Nutritional/Functional Medicine. Dr. Ruterbusch has earned numerous post-graduate degrees/credentials/certifications in: Age-Management Medicine, Nutritional/Functional Medicine, Exercise and Sport Science, Holistic and Sports Nutrition, Integrative Medicine, Advanced Fitness and Medical Fitness Specialization, Strength and Conditioning Specialization, and Community and Public Health. He has also been an Adjunct Professor for Central Michigan University College of Health Professions teaching graduate courses in Health Science.
Dr. Eric Nye is a native of the Tampa Bay area having attended the University of South Florida and University of Tampa while earning his Bachelors of Science Degree in Medical Biology. He graduated with his Doctorate of Chiropractic from Life University College of Chiropractic in Atlanta,Georgia. Dr. Eric Nye is Board Certified by both the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners as well as the Florida Department of Health as a Primary Care Physician and Chiropractic Physician. Dr. Nye completed post graduate education in sports injury diagnosis, rehabilitation and recovery and is certified by the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians™ (ACBSP™) as a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP®). A Board-Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician®, or CCSP®, is an internationally recognized Sports Medicine Specialist. The CCSP® title is awarded to physicians who successfully complete postgraduate level training in diagnosis and treatment of sports injuries, emergency procedures (CPR/AED/Life Support), athletic training and conditioning, and injury prevention. Dr. Nye has completed extensive educational training in Physiotherapy, Rehabilitation, and Orthopedics for the treatment of sports injuries, auto accident injuries and extremities.
Along with his degrees, Dr. Nye is certified by the Florida Division of Worker's Compensation, Rehabilitation and Medical Services Unit as a Florida Worker's Compensation Provider and is certified by the Office of Insurance Regulations as a Health Care Provider for Personal Injury Protection benefits for injured auto and motorcycle accident victims. Dr Eric Nye is a licensed medical provider with the Florida Department of Education, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation assisting individuals with disabilities who require vocational rehabilitation services to prepare for, secure, regain, or retain employment.
Dr. Larry Smith has been in private practice since 1999. Dr Smith is a Board Certified Chiropractic Physician and Board Certified Adult-Geriatric Nurse Practitioner. Dr. Larry Smith earned his Chiropractic degree in Portland Oregon after completing his pre-chiropractic education in southern Nevada. After 12 years practicing chiropractic in Boulder City, Dr. Smith recognizing the need for a different kind of primary care, Dr. Smith went back to school and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.) degree, followed by a Master of Science in Nursing (A.P.R.N.) degree, specializing as an Adult-Geriatric Nurse Practitioner and started Boulder Primary Care in 2016. In addition to his chiropractic and nursing degrees, Dr. Smith holds an Associate of Arts degree from the College of South Nevada. He is also Board Certified in Pain Management by the American Academy of Procedural Medicine and Board Certified as an Adult-Geriatric Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
Dr. Smith has acquired a wide range of skills and certifications throughout his career. He is trained in orthopedic injections under ultrasound guidance and serves as an instructor for Empire Medical Training for Pain Interventions and injection procedures. He has also served as a preceptor for various nurse practitioner programs, including Charles Drew University, Touro University, and United States University.
Furthermore, Dr. Smith is a certified medical aesthetic injector, specializing in micro needling, fillers, and toxins (botox). He has specific expertise in migraine injections and additional care. He is certified in Basic Life Support, IV Therapy, and is board eligible for Wound Care Certification. Dr. Smith has also volunteered as a Pain Management Provider with Healing Hands Abroad.
Additionally, Dr. Smith is certified in Manipulation Under Anesthesia and is Cox Decompression certified, further expanding his expertise in pain management and chiropractic care.
